Ken Griffey Jr. may be a Seattle Mariner once again, per MLB.com's Jim Street. The 39-yr old (How is that possible???) began his career in 1989 with the M's and spent 11 seasons in Seattle before signing a free agent deal with the Reds prior to the 2000 season.
Jr. averaged 52 home runs and 141 RBI in his last four seasons on the left coast. In addition to his offensive numbers, Griffey made highlight reel catches in the Kingdome a nightly occurrence.
Mariners' general manager Jack Zduriencik wouldn't comment on any player movement, but Jr. has made it known he wants to retire a Mariner.
