Jeter, A-Rod, and Cano Headed to WBC

Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and Robinson Cano are among the players on the finalized rosters for the World Baseball Classic. Jeter will, obviously, represent the US, while A-Rod and Cano, as well as Damaso Marte, will play for the Dominican Republic.

Edwar Ramirez and Jose Veras were also on the finalized roster, but Ramirez had to beg off due to bursitis in his shoulder and Veras turned down the invitation.

Minor league catcher Francisco Cervelli, whose father had dual citizenship between Venezuela and Italy, will play for the Italian team. Pitcher Kai Liu and catcher Zhenwang Zhang will represent China, while first baseman Jorge Vazquez will play for Mexico.
