Brian Cashman may not have gotten the Yankees a draft pick or two, but he saved the team at least $10 million by not offering arbitration to Bobby Abreu. According to SI.com's Jon Heyman, tThe free agent right fielder agreed to terms today with the Los Angeles Angels on a 1 year, $5 million contract. Abreu had made $16 million in his last season in the Bronx.
Abreu joins Vlad Guerrero, Juan Rivera, Torii Hunter, and Gary Matthews Jr. in the outfield. The Angels would love to move Matthews and his hefty salary, but would probably have to eat a considerable portion of it.
