Joba Pleads Guilty, Gets Probation

Joba Chamberlain finally had his much put off arraignment on Driving Under the Influence charges.

A plea deal had Chamberlain plead guilty in exchange for a second charge of "driving with an open container" dropped.

The court fined Chamberlain $400, put him on nine months probation, and took away his license for 60 days.

"I appreciate the fact that you have pleaded guilty, that you didn’t give the officer a problem and that you were cooperative," she (Lancaster County Judge Laurie Yardley) said.

"I know this is a first offense and I am going to put you on probation. But I just want you to realize, that you’ve worked long and hard to get where you are today . . . and it takes about 10 seconds to wipe all that out. You cross the center line and you kill a family of five."

Chamberlain nodded and said, "Yes, ma'am," and Yardley told him "don't come back."
