Derek Jeter and David Wright are taking the Yankees-Mets rivalry to another level. The two, who became fast friends at this year's World Baseball Classic, will do battle in a corporate sponsored event to benefit charity.
Delta Airlines has pledged $100,000 to the charity of the player who finishes the season with a higher batting average. $50,000 will be donated to the charity of the runner up.
Jeter's Turn 2 Foundation and "The David Wright Foundation" will use the money to benefit children in the metropolitan area as well as Wright's home state of Virginia.
