There's not many things that can slow
Don Zimmer down, but
a recent stroke has done that. Thankfully,
Popeye is doing much better. Family and friends had noticed something was wrong at a gathering on December 23. An MRI and an extensive exam showed you a "minor stroke" (to paraphrase
John Mellencamp, who once suffered a minor heart attack, "you have one, and then tell me how minor it is).
"I never felt bad," said Zimmer, who turned 78 on Saturday. "I never had anything bother me except that I'm a little wobbly and I'm slow taking a step. A week and a half ago, there's no way I could talk to you. ... But I'm getting better."
Get well soon Zim!
