Short Stops - 4/13

Tom Glavine inched closer to 300 career victories with his 292nd win last night. Glavine gave up a couple of bombs to Jimmy Rollins, but only allowed 4 hits over 6 innings. The Mets won 5-3 to take 2 of 3 from the NL East rivals.

Mark Prior has been shut down by the Cubs for the time being. Prior complained of shoulder soreness in his extended spring training stint. The Cubs have also lost the services, for the moment, of all-star Aramis Ramirez, who has a swollen wrist.

Reigning AL MVP Justin Morneau belted a walk-off solo shot yesterday to give the Twins a victory.

1 in, 1 out..that's the way things look for the Angels starting rotation. Jered Weaver will be recalled this weekend, but Kelvim Escobar is heading back to the DL once again.

The Cleveland Indians and Jake Westbrook agreed on a new 3-year, $33 million extension.

The Texas Rangers have activated Eric Gagne and immediately placed in the closer's role. If he can stay healthy, he and former closer Akinori Otsuka will give the Rangers quite a 1-2 punch.
