Let the Rain Wash Away Your Sins...

or at least your really crappy play.

So the great Phil Hughes experiment went so-so. The try to snap the losing streak went much worse. The Yankees barely touched (they couldn't even put the ball in the air) A.J. Burnett and got blanked by the Jays 6-0. They extended their losing streak to 6 games with the Obnoxious Bunch coming to town for a 3 game series.

More rain could wipe out Friday night's game (a Friday game on Channel 9 usually means rain). If all goes as planned, here are the pitching match ups.

Friday - Dice-K vs. Andy Pettitte
Saturday - Tim Wakefield vs. Jeff Karstens
Sunday - Julian Tavarez vs. Chien-Ming Wang

After an off day on Monday, the Yankees travel to Texas for a 3 game set. Hughes should get a 2nd start in there.

Mike Mussina was supposed to have a rehab start for the 'AA' Trenton Thunder tonight, but the weather has nixed that. Instead Moose will throw a simulated game, and if all goes as planned, will be activated for the Rangers series.

With a sloppy track tonight, it would not be surprising to see Miguel Cairo out at shortstop for one more day.
