Down on the Farm

Brian Cashman wasn't just pleased with the Yankees win tonight. Phil Hughes took the hill for Scranton and dominated the Syracuse Chiefs for 6 innings. Hughes allowed just 2 hits, didn't walk a batter, and struck out 10. Overall, he's now 2-1, 3.94.

The Tampa Yankees have to be tired tonight. Last night they went out and lost a 20 inning game to Clearwater, 4-1. The class 'A' Yanks only managed 6 hits. Stud Jose Tabata went 0-8. The Yankees then had to come out for a day today. Their bats must have not gotten the wake up call. Though they had more hits, 7, than the night before, they still lost to Clearwater, 5-1.

The Trenton Thunder would like to know when they're going to play a game again. They haven't played since April 14 due to all the inclement weather up and down the eastern seaboard.

The Charleston Riverdogs won their early start, 1-0 over Kannapolis (that's not a typo - it's in North Carolina). 21-year old Michael Dunn allowed just 4 hits over 6 1-3 innings.
