A-Rod Should be Booed

Can't this guy hit 4 Home Runs in a game so the Yankees can win??!!!

But seriously folks, A-Rod is a fantasy baseball team all by himself. Lets take a look at the numbers.

Average - .400
HR - 14
RBI - 32
Hitting Streak - 18 games (plus 5 from last season)
Runs Scored - 26
OPS - 1.507

Amazingly, he's only been walked 7 times. You would think pitchers would risk pitching to Giambi instead. Of course with Damon, Jeter, and Abreu getting on base that is easier said than done.

Oh, on the downside, he's only stolen 1 base. That kills his credibility (rolling of the eyes may not commence).

The Wanger

Joy to the World..........Chien-Ming Wang returns tonight. Hopefully he has 150 pitch count, because the Yankees MUST have him get into the 7th inning. Wang was shaky against the Rays in '05, but went 3-0, 1.15 against them last year.

Sour Melk

Though he's still playing gold glove caliber defense, what has happened to Melky Cabrera this season. After being rushed to the majors in '05, Melky came on strong last year, showing tremendous promise at the plate. His patience and ability to work the count was outstanding for such a young player.

Melky is hitting an even .200 with 0 extra base hits in 70 at-bats. He has only struck out 8 times, but half have been in the last 4 games. The Yankees have only had their starting outfield in place on opening day, so Melky has been put to the test right away. It looks like his defense is the only think that's keeping him from a trip to Scranton.
