Jeff Weaver is still killing the Yankees. After only 2 innings today, he and the Mariners already trail the Red Sox 7-0.
How long until the Giants fan start screaming for Barry Zito to give the money back. Zito gave up 8 runs, 9 hits, and walked 3 in 6 innings of work. He's now 0-2, 8.18 in his 2 starts. Then again, Giants fans may leave him alone since they root for a cheater.
The Braves' Mike Hampton is now officially done for the season after undergoing ligament replacement surgery on his left elbow today.
You'd better not just talk the talk...The Mets had their home opener against the Phillies yesterday afternoon. Behind home runs from Ryan Howard and Chase Utley, the Phils built a 5-3 lead on the Mets. Trailing 5-4 in the 8th the Mets loaded the bases with one out. That's when Jose Reyes hit a potential inning ending double play ball to Jimmy Rollins. Yep, the same Rollins that said the Phillies were the supreme team. Rollins booted the grounder for an error, which allowed the tying run to score and opened the flood gates. Final score Mets 11 Phillies 5.
