Crazy April weather is upon us. After a gorgeous opening day and a waste of good weather on Tuesday's off day, the Yankees 2nd game (and Andy P's return) got nixed by heavy rain yesterday. Today the sun is out, but it was 38° driving into work - in a snow squall! Yes, you heard me right. It wasn't sticking, but it was unreal. Game time temp is supposed to be 41°, with a wind chill of 32°. That'll be great for Andy's back.
Johnny Damon's calves wouldn't be liking this weather or any weather. It's looking more and more like Damon is headed to the DL. Melky Cabrera will start in CF for the foreseeable future. One of the Kevins (Thompson or Reese) will likely be recalled if Damon does get DL'ed. Any discussion of a Bernie Williams return was quickly nixed by Brian Cashman.
Further clarification on the deal Ron Villone signed to go to Scranton. If he's not called up by May 15, Villone can opt out. If he is recalled, he'll receive a portion of the original deal he signed prior to spring training.
