Yankees vs. Rays - May 15

Glen Frey can crank up "The Heat is On" for Ian Kennedy tonight. IPK makes his return from the minors after one start and one 12-pitch relief apperance. Now he has to go out and trust his stuff. The Yankees need a good start out of him for the obvious reasons plus Scott Kazmir will be toeing the rubber for the Rays.

Kennedy is going to have to go out and back up his parting words from when he was sent down. If he thinks his pitches were scrutinized before, they really will be now.

The Yankees lack of some right-handed pop could come into play in the next 3 games when they face Kazmir and Oliver Perez and Johan Santana of the Mets.

Where do they did these stats up? Robinson Cano's 4-hit game last night made him the 9th player with 10 or more 4-hit games in their first 454 career games. Seriously.

The Yankees most recent lack of run support can be tied into Johnny Damon's most recent slide. He's 2 for his last 18.

The Detroit Free Press has an article today in which Joe Girardi praises Kenny Rogers pitching and fielding. If only Rogers best move while he was in New York wasn't giving his teammates a hot foot.

A-Rod is about to be booed by Red Sox fans and he won't even be in Boston. A-Rod was one of four people to record a video taped congratulations for Manny Ramirez for when the Red Sox outfielder clubs his 500th home run.

More promotions in the Yankees minor league system. Pitchers Al Aceves and Eric Hacker are getting bumped up from Tampa to Trenton, while Dan McCutchen makes the leap from Trenton to Scranton.
