Yankees vs. Mariners - May 4

Busy afternoon today. Celtics-Hawks, Game 7. Rangers-Penguins Game 5. Yankees and Mariners in the finale of their 3-game series. Darrell Rasner makes his season debut for the Bombers as takes, for now, Phil Hughes' spot in the rotation. When interviewed by Mike and the Mad Dog the other day, Joe Girardi would not commit to whether Rasner would be a permanent fixture or would be judged on a start by start basis. Brian Bruney was transfered to the 60-day DL to make room on the 40-man roster for Rasner.

Another Yankee missing from the rotation is Ian Kennedy. Girardi said there have been, and will be, internal discussions to determine whether or not IPK stays in the rotation. Well the decision has been made, and for now, Kennedy has been demoted. Since the Yankees don't need a 5th starter until May 10, there will probably be no recall until then.
