Minor League Recap - 5/9

Scranton blew a 1-run lead in the 9th inning, but Justin Christian walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th to pull out a 5-4 win over the Charlotte Knights. Jeff Marquez allowed 1 earned run over 6.1 innings. Scott Strickland picked up the win after getting the blown save. Mike McDougal got the loss after 4 batters in the 11th.

Edwar Gonzalez and Carlos Mendoza drove in 3 runs each in the Trenton Thunder's 7-2 win over the Erie SeaWolves. Jason Jones improved to 5-0 with the help of Anthony Claggett, who tossed 3 scoreless innings of relief.

Tampa extended its winnings streak to 8 games with a 4-2 win over the Brevard County Manatees. Al Aceves allowed just 1 hit over 5.2 innings and combined with 3 relievers on a 4-hitter (Mark Melancon 2.1 IP 2 H 1 R 0 ER 1 BB 2 K) to earn the win for the Yankees.

Charleston blew a 1 run lead in the 9th and a 2 run lead in the 12th before downing the Asheville Tourists 7-6 in 13 innings. Jesus Montero broke out of a mini-slump with 3 hits and 3 RBI, including the game winning home run, his 5th of the season. Jason Stephens threw 5 shutout innings in his first start of the season for the RiverDogs.
