Via Peter Abraham, Brian Cashman was on Boston's WEEI radio earlier this afternoon and stated that Derek Jeter would not play in the Boston series. Cashman he was hopeful that Jeter could play when the team goes to Tampa on Monday for a 2-game series.
Jeter might have been able this weekend if not for the inclement weather that will be in the area. So why not just place him on the DL retroactive to last Monday and let him sit next week to be sure he's completely healthy?
