Minor League Folly

No, this isn't our minor league recap, but just some words on a couple of events that have hit the headlines the last few days. In each case they have to do with a 15-yr old.

First we've got the Roger Clemens - Mindy McCready fiasco, though now the NY Daily News is saying she was 18 when the affair started. Still seems really unseemly, if it's true. There are rumors that McCready leaked the story since she has a reality show coming out and is trying to resurrect her career from drug, alcohol, and fraud problems. She may get more than she bargained for. Brian McNamee's attorney, Richard Emery, is considering serving a subpoena to McCready for the anti-defamation suit against Clemens.

Next up is the whole Miley Cyrus uproar. In case you haven't heard, renowned photog Annie Liebowitz took a bunch of photos of the Hannah Montana girl, alone and with her Dad, Billy Ray Cyrus for Vanity Fair magazine . Well after the good ol' boy left, Liebowitz took some risque photos of Miley, with her grandmother and teacher present. Liebowitz, of course, thinks its no big deal, and it's an art. We strongly disagree.

This is a 15-yr old girl...let's say that again...this is a 15-yr old girl. There's absolutely no reason to see her in a sultry or provocative pose. Especially with pedophiles running rampant in this country. (Hopefully Roger Clemens doesn't see it). Wait until she's 18 and do what you want, but in the meantime let a kid be a kid. Because that's what she still is, star or not.

And while we're at, shame on you to NBC. Bravo used to be a great channel. Then you bought it and shit all over it with your reality crap. One of those shows is about a bunch of trash called stage mothers, who dress their 6-yr olds like they're 20 and throw them into pageants. Idiots.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled My Pinstripes.
