Netflix Mike Mussina Night

Any time Mike Mussina takes the hill it's a good night to watch those Netflix rentals. We've got "Michael Clayton" in the hopper ready to go. Moose (1-3, 5.75) hasn't had great success with the White Sox (16-16, 4.63) in the past and that's when his stuff was still working well.

White Sox vs. Moose

Jermaine Dye .377 (20-53) 2 HR 8 RBI
A.J. Pierzynski .371 (13-35) 1 HR 6 RBI
Toby Hall .290 (9-31) 3 RBI
Paul Konerko .286 (10-35) 1 HR 2 RBI
Jim Thome .271 (13-48) 6 HR 15 RBI
Nick Swisher .222 (2-9) 1 HR 1 RBI
Juan Uribe .211 (4-19) 1 HR 4 RBI
Joe Crede .185 (5-27) 1 HR 2 RBI
Orlando Cabrera .158 (3-19)
Carlos Quentin .000 (0-3)

Former Yankee Javier Vazquez (3-1, 3.20) gets the call for the Chisox tonight. He's 1-3, 5.25 against the Yankees in 4 career starts. One of those was on the losing end of David Cone's perfect game when he was a member of the Montreal Expos.

Yankees vs Vazquez

Jason Giambi .500 (1-2) 1 HR 2 RBI
Morgan Ensberg .385 (5-13) 1 HR 2 RBI
Robinson Cano .333 (2-6)
Chad Moeller .333 (1-3)
Bobby Abreu .273 (18-66) 7 HR 12 RBI 9 BB
Johnny Damon .294 (5-17) 2 HR 3 RBI
Melky Cabrera .250 (1-4)
Derek Jeter .231 (3-13) 1 HR 2 RBI
Jose Molina .167 (1-6)
Jorge Posada .125 (1-8)
Hideki Matsui .000 (0-1)

News and Notes

Bobby Abreu's grand slam yesterday was his first since 8/20/05 for the Phillies against the Diamondbacks. As a team the Yankees have hit 54 grand slams since 2000, the most in the majors. Abreu needs just 2 more RBI for 1,000.

Chien-Ming Wang has allowed only 1 home run (Seattle's Adrian Beltre) to a right-handed hitter in his last 23 starts.

Hideki Matsui batted clean up last night for the first time since July 5 of last season.

The Yankees lineup from Peter Abraham:

YANKEES
Damon LF
Jeter SS
Abreu RF
Matsui DH
Posada C
Cano 2B
Giambi 1B
Ensberg 3B
Cabrera CF
Mussina RHP
