The Yankees play the finale of their four game set with the Indians tonight in Cleveland. Even though Tuesday's home game is at night, can the Yankees ever have an early start on a travel day? Is it because this game is on ESPN again. Seriously.
Weather may effect tonight's game as well. There's a 50% chance of rain by game time and it increases to 60% by 8 p.m.
Derek Jeter's double yesterday tied him with Joe Dimaggio for 5th place on the all-time team list with 389 two-baggers.
Chien-Ming Wang joined teammates Andy Pettitte (1997) and Mike Mussina (2003) in starting the season 5-0. Wang also had one no decision. Wang changed speeds yesterday much more often than he did in last year's two ALDS losses.
Mussina starts tonight's finale against left-hander Aaron Laffey.
Alex Rodriguez is not 100% recovered from his quad strain, but will continue to play. He has just 2 RBI in his last 13 games and just 10 for the month.
Robinson Cano ended an 0-14 slide with his single yesterday. And of course then he was picked off. That's how his April has gone.
Indians centerfielder Grady Sizemore saw his 382 game consecutive playing streak on Sunday after mildly spraining his ankle on Saturday. Sizemore was gunned down at 2nd Base by Jorge Posada, whose shoulder paid the price yesterday.
Roger Clemens' world could be getting a whole lot uglier. Stories are starting to surface that Clemens had a 10-year extra marital affair with trouble country singer Mindy McCready. It gets worse. McReady was reportedly on 15 when the affair began.
Tigers Hall of Fame broadcaster Ernie Harwell has written a piece in the Detroit Free Press on Yankees bench coach Rob Thomson's Tiger roots.
