Rumors for a Tuesday

White Sox GM Kenny Williams is still hoping to hold on to Mark Buerhle and told the media yesterday he offered Buehrle a contract with a limited no-trade clause. The deal would include an 18 month window that would allow the White Sox to try to move Buehrle.

The Pirates' Salomon Torres, who has never been as good as he is in his own head, has filed a grievance against the club. Torres claims that the Pirates tricked him into signing a 2-year, $6.5 million extension (please someone trick me like that) during spring training in 2006. Torres is doing a rehab stint for a bum arm and claims the team is moving his rehab schedule slowly along because he complained about his contract. Torres is definitely on the all idiot team.

According to The Boston Globe, the Red Sox will be one of the main players for Astros' reliever Brad Lidge. "That's what all of baseball is waiting for," said the official. "There are a few of us who will be in [the bidding for Lidge]. I know Boston and Detroit are two that will go after him hard." Lidge is about to come off the DL after recovering from a strained oblique.

A.J. Burnett may be shopped by Blue Jays' GM J.P. Ricciardi to see what interest is out there. How much interest could there be considering Burnett still has 3 years remaining on his deal and is a regular visitor to the DL. Source-Globesports.com.
