Tampa Yankees (A)

Sunday - Tampa 4 Lakeland 0 (Game 1), Tampa 4 Lakeland 3 (Game 2)

For the 2nd time in 5 days, the Tampa Yankees pitching staff combined on a no-hitter. On Wednesday, Kevin Whelan, David Robertson, and Josh Schmidt threw a no-no against Jupiter. This time it was Jose Veras (2 IP) and Daniel McCutcheon (5 IP) turning the trick. After Veras threw as part of his rehab stint, McCutcheon, who is normally a starter, came out of the pen and finished the job. Despite walking 5, McCutcheon also kept Lakeland off the scoreboard to earn his league leading 11th win.

In the nightcap, Austin Jackson's (7th) 2-run HR was the highlight of a 4 run 5th inning. Anthony Claggett won his 3rd game of the season with some help from David Robertson.

Friday - Tampa 4 Lakeland 3

George Kontos (2-4) allowed 3 unearned 3 runs over 6 innings, and Eric Wordekemper picked up 24th save. Wordekemper lowered his ERA to 0.78 in the process. Austin Jackson had 3 hits, including a solo home run.
