Minor League Recap - 6/11

Scranton rallied late, but fell short in an 8-5 loss to the Richmond Braves. Jeff Marquez allowed 5 runs, 3 earned, in 5 innings, and the Braves reached Steven White for another 3 (2 earned) in 1.1 IP. Jason Lane homered, and he and Alberto Gonzalez drove in 2 runs each as the Yankees scored all of their runs in the last 2 innings of play.

The Trenton Thunder dropped a 6-3 game to the Connecticut Defenders. George Kontos had his first bad start in quite some time, allowing 4 runs in just 3.1 innings. Edwar Gonzalez had 2 hits to raise his average to .324 and scored a couple of runs.

The Tampa Yankees were out scored by the St. Lucie Mets 10-7 as Ivan Nova got hammered in his 4 inning start. Mitch Hilligoss lead the offense with 3 RBI.

The Charleston RiverDogs were the lone Yankees affiliate to pick up a win, beating the Rome Braves 5-2. Adam Olbrychowski allowed 2 runs over 6 innings and Jon Ortiz picked up his 19th save. Austin Romine drove in 2 runs and the RiverDogs had an 11-hit attack.
