Minor League Recap - 6/27

Games of 6/26

Scranton was a starter short so they went by committe and pulled out a 7-4 win on Cody Ransom's 8th inning, 3-run home run. Steven Jackson got the start (3 IP, 1 ER), followed by Steven White (2 IP, 2 ER), Dave Robertson (2 IP, 0 R, 3 K), J.B. Cox (1 IP, 0 R), who picked up the win, and Scott Strickland (1 IP, 0 R), who earned his first save. Ransom also had an RBI single in the victory over the Columbus Clippers.

The Trenton Thunder were belted by the Erie SeaWolves 6-1 as the game out of reach against reliever Bo Hall. George Kontos (5 IP, 3 R, 1 ER, 7 K) had a decent start, but the Thunder was limited to 5 hits. Edwar Gonzalez scored the lone run.

The Tampa Yankees had the day off.

Charleston had an up and down day. The RiverDogs won the completion of their game, started on 6/21, before dropping the regularly scheduled game to the Columbus Catfish.

Taylor Holiday's grand slam ignited the RiverDogs to a 6-2 win in the opener. Ryan Zink allowed 1 unearned run over 3 innings to pick up the win.

Lance Pendleton was a tough luck loser in the regularly scheduled 7 inning contest. Pendleton allowed 2 unearned runs over 5 innings, but the Catfish hung on for a 2-1 win. Brandon Laird drove in the lone RiverDogs run.

The Staten Island Yankees lost a tough one to the Hudson Valley Renegades 3-2. Starter Corey Arbiso got roughed up early, but the bullpen did a good job of keeping the Baby Bombers in the game. Ray Kruml had 3 hits, and RBI and a run scored, and Melky Mesa also drove in a run.
