Sidney Ponson is back in town, according to the YES Network's Kim Jones, who reported that "Fatson" has been signed to a minor league deal. He'll start for Scranton this weekend and could be the guy they go to when a starter is needed for next weekend's doubleheader with the Mets.
The Yankees also signed former Indians and White Sox pitcher Oneli Perez to a minor league deal and assigned him to Trenton. Perez may throw some unusual pitches...he has 12 fingers. He does throw a low 90's fastball and slider. He had oustanding numbers until this season.
