Gardner May Change Landscape

Brett Gardner is headed to the Bronx according to his hometown paper, "The Times and Democrat, in Holly Hill, South Carolina, and confirmed by Scranton beat writer Chad Jennings. We would have to think that either Justin Christian gets sent down or Chad Moeller gets DFA'ed. Something tells us it will be the former.

Gardner is hitting .287-3-29 at Scranton with 34 stolen bases in 42 attempts. He also has a 11 doubles, 10 triples, and an .941 OPS. The left-handed hitter actually has a higher average, .318, against left-handers than against righties (.274). His recall could lead to a long term loss of at-bats for Melky Cabrera should Melky continue to struggle at the plate.
