Number 17 on the 17th

Last night was quite glorious. If you've been a long time reader (anything since Dec., 2005 would qualify) you know that we think outside the box, or outside the tri-state area in this case. We love the Yankees, Rangers, Giants, and the.....Celtics. It's just been that way since we were kids.

So to say that we were ecstatic last night, is an understatement. The Celtics first title in 22 years. In the same year the Giants won the Super Bowl. Amazing.

To think we thought the Rangers had the best shot of our 4 teams to win it all. Making this NBA final doubly special was the total annihilation of the Los Angeles Lakers. They are to the Celtics what the Red Sox are to the Yankees, but even more so, because they meet in the league finals.

Somewhere Red Auerbach is lighting up a cigar, and Johnny Most is yelling, "Celtics Win the NBA title!". Now we can go back to realizing the fans in the new Boston Garden are the same people we hate at the Red Sox games.
