Yankees vs. Rays - April 4

With a 60-70% chance of rain all evening, it's going to be difficult to get this one in. But if they do, Andy Sonnanstine will make his 3rd career start against the Yankees and Ian Kennedy will go against the team he won his first major league game against. The Yankees and Rays are set to start a 4-game, weekend wrap around series in the Bronx. The bad blood that boiled over during spring training is hopefully in the past (Elliot Johnson did indeed make the Rays roster).

Sonnastine lost 8 of his 9 decisions in his rookie year, but bounced back to finish 6-10, 5.85. He was 1-1, 3.14 against the Yankees.

IPK made his major league debut against the Rays last September 1 and picked up the victory after allowing 1 run in 7 innings.

The Yankees have struggled against the Rays the last few seasons, losing 8 times in both 2005 and 2007.

Carl Crawford comes into the series needing 7 hits to reach 1,000 for his career.
