Minor League Recap - 4/18

The Scranton Yankees and Jeff Marquez got pounded by the Charlotte Knights, 10-2. Marquez gave up 5 runs in 5.1 innings. Chris Britton tossed 1.1 scoreless innings and has not been scored upon in 2008 (8.1 IP). Brett Gardner had 2 hits and is batting .349.

The Trenton Thunder overcame a 3-0 deficit to beat the New Britain Rock Cats, 7-4. Matt Carson drove in 2 runs in a decisive 4-run 7th inning. Jose Tabata was 2-5 to raise his average to .268. Jason Jones improved to 3-0 with the win.

The Tampa Yankees pounded the Dunedin Blue Jays for the second straight game, this time by the score of 7-1, to take 2 of 3 in the series. It was a big night for Edwar Gonzalez- a home run, two doubles, and 3 RBI. Mitch Hilligoss also had 3 hits to help Al Aceves improve to 2-0. J.B. Cox threw a scoreless inning in relief.

The Savannah Sand Gnats snapped the Charleston River Dog's 9-game winning streak with a 6-4 victory. It was just the Dogs second loss in 14 games. 3rd Baseman Justin Snyder continued to swing a hot bat (.423) with 2 hits and RBI.
