Minor League Recap - 4/15

Scranton shellacked Durham, 9-1, in an afternoon affair on Monday. Shelley Duncan (.500) stayed red hot with 3 hits and a couple of runs batted in. Scott Strickland threw 3.1 scoreless innings for the win. Edwar Ramirez put up a goose egg in the 9th to extend his streak to 7 shutout innings this year. Dan Giese, a career reliever, made his first professional start for the Yankees.

The Thunder lost to the Altoona Curve 4-1. George Kontos got knocked around for 3 runs in 5 innings in taking the loss. Jose Tabata was 2-4 to raise his average to .244. Austin Jackson (.294) went 1-4.

Tampa had the day off. They start a series with Dunedin today.

Charleston completed a 4-game sweep of the Rome Braves with a 4-3 win. The River Dogs have won 10 of their first 11 games. Wil De La Rosa pitched 2 dominant innings of relief to earn the win. 2nd Baseman Justin Snyder stayed red hot, going 2-4 and is hitting .409 on the season.
