The Daily News is reporting the Yankees turned down a deal for Johan Santana that would have sent Phil Hughes, Melky Cabrera and prospects Jeffrey Marquez, and Mitch Hilligoss to the Twins. And get this - the reason was because they don't want to spend the money on Santana.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!
How can you NOT do that deal. Ian Kennedy, Alan Horne, Jose Tabata, Austin Jackson - none of those names are mentioned. This is Johan FRIGGIN Santana, not Ervin Santana (whose real name is Johan).
This is a HUGE mistake by the Yankees. The Twins know that the Red Sox offer really isn't that great. Lester and Crisp, or even Ellsbury? No, it isn't.
I don't want to hear all year how great the Yankees lineup is so come playoff time, if they make it, they get outpitched..again!
