Father Prior

As rumored, Mark Prior has inked a 1-year deal with his hometown San Diego Padres. The 27-yr old right-hander underwent shoulder surgery on April 24 and isn't expected to be ready for the start of the 2008 season.

Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
