LaTroy Makes it Official

LaTroy Hawkins has officially signed his contract, one that will guarantee him $3.75 million next season. Now if we could only guarantee he won't stink.

Here's the official news release:
The New York Yankees made it official Thursday, signing veteran reliever LaTroy Hawkins to a one-year deal.

According to Rocky Mountain News, Hawkins will make $3.75 million next season.

The 35-year-old Hawkins went 2-5 with a 3.42 earned run average with five saves in 62 appearances with the NL Champion Colorado Rockies last year.

Over 13 seasons in the majors, he has posted a 56-76 record with 75 saves and a 4.68 ERA in 631 games, which has included 98 starts. He played his first nine seasons in Minnesota and has also had stints with the Cubs, Giants and Orioles.
