Wells Fargo

That be the name on the truck that will be backing up to Alex Rodriguez's house to unload the money. Whether he opts out or not, the soon to be AL MVP is on the brink(Brinks?) of getting his 2nd break the bank contract.

Word from several sources is that the Yankees are preparing an offer that will, hopefully, keep him from being a free agent 10 days after the World Series ends.

There is currently 3 years remaining on his existing deal, with Scott Boras throwing out numbers like 12 years, $360 million. While A-Rod will get plenty, Boras seems to be smoking his own propaganda. The reported offer by the Yankees would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 years for $150 million, giving him an 8 year deal overall. And, most importantly to the Yankees, the Texas Rangers would still be on the hook for $21 million.
