The Daily News is reporting that the Yankees, despite their earlier remarks, are negotiating with Alex Rodriguez to return to the Bronx. There's one big catch though. Scott Boras cannot be part of the process.
As for the money, it would have to be a below market contract to make up for the $21 million kick-in the Yankees lost from the Texas Rangers, A-Rod's previous employer.
A-Rod approached the Yankees through a 3rd party mediator, and could still stop negotiations if pressured by Boras.
