Breaking News: Yankees Sign Eric Milton

They all come home again. Bobby Murcer, Oscar Gamble, Ruben Sierra. The list goes on and on. And now it's Eric Milton's turn. ESPN.com is reporting the Yankees have signed their former prospect to a minor league deal and assigned him to Scranton.

Milton, who was dealt along with Christian Guzman and Brian Buchanan to the Twins for Chuck Knoblauch prior to the '98 season, had arm surgery in June, 2007 and is on the road back. Joe Girardi, obviously, is taking a wait and see attitude.
"He's a left-hander, he's a got a pretty big breaking ball," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "Obviously, we'll have to see how he does. It's the beginning stages of him trying to get back to the big leagues."

  2. It was a great idea with Jon Lieber and Octavio Dotel, but Milton was pitching horribly before he got hurt.
