Minor League Recap - 5/13

Ian Kennedy got in his one inning of work (12 pitches) and then Scranton went out and beat the Indianapolis Indians 2-1 in 10 innings to start a doubleheader sweep. Eric Duncan provided the Yankees' game winning single for pitcher Dave Robertson (1-0, 2.70).

Scranton took the nightcap as Juan Miranda homered and Brett Gardner had a double, triple, an RBI, and a run scored. Steven White threw a complete game, scattering 10 hits to raise his record to 4-1 with a 2.66 ERA.

Trenton had the night off, but the Thunder will start up a series with the Portland Sea Dogs tonight.

The Tampa Yankees dropped their 2nd straight, after blowing a 1-run lead in the 9th, 6-2 in 11 innings to the Lakeland Flying Tigers. The Yankees bullpen wasted the efforts of starter Mike Dunn who pitched scoreless, 2-hit ball over 6 innings.

The Charleston RiverDogs got back to their winning ways with a 5-0 blanking of the Greenville Drive (who named that team?). Lance Pendleton (2-2, 3.42), Wil De La Rosa, and Casey Erickson combined on a 5-hitter. Carmen Angelini belted his first home run to spark the offense.

The Star Ledger's David Waldstein has a feature today on Trenton pitcher Dan McCutchen. It's not all that more informative than past features on the right-hander, but still worth the read.
