This Week in the NFL - Week 9

No Big Blue this week, which is both good and scary. The Giants have been crap in the 2nd half for a number of years now, and especially under Tom Coughlin. Next week they have to get right back with their 'A' game as the face the Cowboys at home.

Here's a look at our picks for this week's games...

To Date- 61-50-6

Redskins -3.5 at Jets
Kellen Clemens gets the start for Jets, but he won't have Laveranues Coles to throw too. Coles' 107 game playing streak is most likely coming to end today because of a concussion. The Redskins aren't very good, but they'll be plenty good against the Jets.

Patriots -5.5 at Colts
The one everyone has been waiting for and it should live up to the hype. It's almost impossible to pick against the Pats this week, and we can't. Here's hoping that Tony Dungy's boys beat the James Bond crew.

Titans -4 vs. Panthers
Vince Young threw for 42 yards last week...42! But the Panthers have to rely on Vinny Testaverde and a defense that never gets to the QB. At the very least, the young Vin should be able to run his way to victory.

Bengals -1 at Bills
This is practically a coin flip pick. We have no confidence in the Bengals defense, but they still have Carson Palmer to make things happen on the offensive side of the ball. J.P. Losman gets the start over Trent Edwards, but Dick Jauron may flip flop them. Something tells me the Bills will win this and we'll be wrong, but we'll stick with our 1st instinct.

Broncos +3 at Lions
The Lions are tough at home and the Broncos are reeling, having lost 2 straight. But we think Mike Shanahan and Jay Cutler will find a way to get them back on the winning track. It's hard to have any confidence in a Matt Millen run team.

Packers +2 at Chiefs
Should be a very physical football game. The Packers had a short prep week, and they'll have to stop LJ. But we think the Packers and Brett Favre will come out on top of a hard fought game.

Saints -3 vs. Jaguars
Jaguars are a very physical football team, but with Quinn Gray at QB, it's hard to imagine the rejuvenated Saints are only 3 point favorites. A lot of it could be contributed to the rib injury that Reggie Bush will have to play through today.

Chargers -7 at Vikings
The Chargers have been clicking on all cylinders and the Vikings have Kelly Holcomb and Brooks Bollinger at QB. The Bolts should romp.

49ers +3.5 vs. Falcons
Falcons haven't been favored too often, but the 49ers offense has been brutal. That being said Alex Smith has had some time to get back in the flow. Unfortunately, it looks like he'll be without Frank Gore (ankle) in the backfield. That being said we think this will be a 3 point game or less.

Cardinals +3.5 at Bucs
Kurt Warner's health will dictate whether or not the Cards win/stay in this game. Edgarrin James needs to have a good day against a Bucs team that relies on its defense. We think the Bucs lack of a running game will bite them on their bucside in this one.

Seahawks +1 at Browns
The Browns have been playing solid football and Derek Anderson has been all-world. But this underachieving Seahawks team has too much talent to let it get away. Now if only Mike Holmgren would stop making some strange decisions.

Raiders -3 vs. Texans
Sage Rosenfels gets the start over the injured Matt Schaub and that only makes matters worse for the Texans. The Raiders are bad, plain and simple, but they should win today on a bunch of Janikowski field goals.

Cowboys +3 at Eagles
Donovan McNabb had an old McNabb game last week, but he and Brian Westbrook aren't going to be able to put enough points to stop Romosexual and TO.

Steelers -9 vs. Ravens
A good battle for MNF. Steve McNair is expected to play, but the Ravens don't have enough offensive weapons to pull this out. The defense will try to keep it close, but Big Ben and the boys should pull away in the 2nd half.
