Redskins' Sean Taylor in Critical Condition

It's been a rough few days in the sports world. First there was the passing of Joe Kennedy. Then Indians prospect Juan Lara was seriously injured in an accident in the Dominican Republic, when a motorcycle crashed into his car. The driver of the motorcycle and his passenger were killed instantly.

Now comes word that Redskins' safety Sean Taylor has been critically wounded in a shooting at his home in Miami. The bullet severed the femeral artery in Taylor's leg and he was rushed into surgery. We'll update this story as soon as we know more. We send out our thoughts and prayers to his family as well as that of Juan Lara. Source

UPDATE - 1:00 EST

From the Washington Post:
Just spoke with a friend of the family who said that Sean lost a substantial amount of blood and the bullet traveled near the femoral artery, which is located in the upper thigh. Sean's father, Pedro, the chief of police in Florida City, Florida, is with him at the hospital, according to the source. They believe the situation is stabalizing, and are obviously hoping for the best.
