Cordero, Linebrink Find Relief

That "ca-ching" you hear is the sound of relievers Francisco Cordero and Scott Linebrink cashing in on the free agent market. Cordero, who was outstanding in his first full season as the Brewers closer, snared a 4 year, $46 million deal with the Cincinnati Reds.

Cordero had become the Texas Rangers closer before the AL team traded him to Milwaukee during the 2006 season for Carlos Lee. As an NL All-Star, Cordero recorded 44 saves in 51 changes while recording a 2.98 ERA. Source

Linebrink, who was one of the top set up men in baseball the prior 4 seasons in San Diego, has reportedly agreed to a 4 year, $19 million deal with the Chicago White Sox. Linebrink appeared in 73 games, 3 straight years for the Pads before a trade to the Brewers this past spring. He appeared in 71 games for the Brewers, recording his highest ERA since 2002. Source
