Halloween PC Police

There are definitely some Halloween costumes that are in poor taste and shouldn't be seen in private, let alone in public. But the grief that Detroit Lions QB Jon Kitna is getting is absolutely ridiculous. Kitna and his wife, Jennifer, dressed as a naked man (Kitna wore a t-shirt that had illustrated body parts and a thong) and a drive-thru restaurant attendant (Wendy's to be exact) for a Lions charity party.

What's the big deal, right? Well as you probably don't recall, Lions assistant coach Joe Cullen was arrested in 2006 after actually driving to a fast food place sans clothing, but fully loaded with alcohol. Unfortunately for Kitna, the media got a hold of it and made a big deal. Kitna said Cullen had no problem with the costume and he would not have worn it if Cullen hadn't come so far since then.

"People who understand an NFL locker room understand that when guys do things we joke with each other a lot," Kitna said. "Now, would I have done it last year? No. I think it would have been too close to when the situation happened.

"But Joe is somebody that I talk to and I know how far he's come and the changes that he's made and the things that he's done in his life. It was something actually I was hoping to win the contest and win the (vehicle), and I was going to give it to Joe, to be honest with you. But that didn't happen."

Kitna and his wife were made fun of as well, as party goers spoofed their devout Christian beliefs. Sometimes it is okay to make fun people, especially those you are close to.
