Suspending starting pitchers for intentionally throwing at a batter is a given, but at the same time it's meaningless. Roger Clemens got hit with a 5 game suspension yesterday for his retaliatory strike at Alex Rios. Joe Torre gets a 1 game suspension as well. Of course the little punk who precipitated the whole thing, Josh Towers, gets off free.
Update 5:00 PM - Roger Clemens will not appeal his suspension and will begin serving it immediately. This means he will miss his scheduled start on Monday.
