We should only be so lucky. The Yankees and Tigers open up a HUGE 4 game series tonight at Yankee Stadium. The Tigers won the first 2 games of a series with division rival Cleveland before dropping the finale yesterday. That left the Tigers and Indians tied for the Central division lead, and 1 game back of the wild card leaging Yankees and Mariners.
Here are the pitching probables for the series:
Thursday - Justin Verlander (12-4, 3.58) vs. Mike Mussina (8-7, 4.50)
Friday - Nate Robertson (7-9, 5.01) vs. Andy Pettitte (9-7, 3.93)
Saturday - Chad Durbin (7-5, 4.68) vs. Roger Clemens (4-5, 4.00)
Sunday - Jeremy Bonderman (10-5, 4.65) vs. Chien-Ming Wang (13-6, 4.09)
The Red Sox are off today before starting a 4 game series with the Angels (the Yankees next opponent), that included a day-night doubleheader on Friday. Sox stud prospect Clay Bucholz is expected to start the 2nd game.
The Indians are also off today and then host the Devil Rays for 3. You guessed it. The Mariners are off today too, before starting a 3 game series at home with the White Sox.Y
