Yankees vs. Astros - March 7

The Houston Astros travel to Tampa today to take on the Yankees at G.M.S. Field at 1:05 pm. The game will be televised on the YES Network.

The game will mark the first apperance this spring of Mariano Rivera, who is expected to be the 2nd pitcher in after starter Andy Pettitte. Steven White, LaTroy Hawkins, Brian Bruney, and Jose Veras are also expected to see action.

Here's the starting lineup, per Peter Abraham:

Melky Cabrera CF
Derek Jeter SS

Robinson Cano 2B
Alex Rodriguez DH
Shelley Duncan 1B
Wilson Betemit 3B
Jason Lane RF
Jose Molina C
Brett Gardner LF

Steven Jackson didn't help himself out any when the Yankees and Reds played the bottom of the 9th. The Reds had already technically won the game 12-8, but as often happens during spring training, the managers worked it out so that Jackson could throw an inning. He promptly got tagged for 4 runs.

The Yankees have a pre-workout meeting this morning on the dangers of alcohol and drug use. You would think that after the Jim Leyritz incident hit so close to home, they would speak to them about drinking and driving, too.
