We apologize for the lack of posts the last few days as we've been hit up with a whopper of a cold. By now you've heard the Roger Clemens-Brian McNamee phone conversation and Clemens, ridiculously, storming out of a press conference. We can't see how any of it helped Clemens in any way.
What will help Clemens was McNamee apparently being caught in a lie back in 2001 . He denied having sex with a drugged woman at a Florida hotel despite several witnesses who said they saw him. McNamee refused to stop when confronted by security guards and had the woman out of the pool and dressed by the time police arrived. However, the woman was incoherent and taken to a hospital where it was found that GHB, the date rape drug, was in her system.
No chargers were ever filed, but the Yankees fired McNamee from their staff. Clemens then hired him as his personal trainer.
