Kevin Costner has made 3 baseball films - 2 classics - "Field of Dreams" and "Bull Durham", and the clunker, "For the Love of the Game" (he also played an ex-player in "The Upside of Anger", but that doesn't count). Now Costner is trying to use his Hollywood pull to save Rosenblatt Stadium, the home of the college world series in Omaha, Nebraska.
A commercial will start airing today in which Costner will try to help raise funds for improvements to the 23,000+ seat stadium. CWS Inc., the local organizing group, estimates that at least $25 million in upgrades are needed to keep the place alive.
Rosenblatt Stadium has been host to the college world series for more than 50 years.
