The Yankees and Astros are all tied up 2-2 after 2 -1/2. Andy Pettitte was removed after 2 2/3 when he reached his pitch limit (approx. 45). Former Met, Victor Diaz hit a home run off of Pettitte in the 1st, but Jason Lane and Wilson Betemit delivered RBI hits against old friend Shawn Chacon in the 2nd to tie it up.

Brett Gardner helped preserve the tie when he threw out the would-be go ahead run at home plate in the top of the 3rd.
