110 Years in the Making

I first saw the score on Yahoo sports and said, "no way". They've had these types of errors before. Than I checked CBS Sportsline and saw it again. When a poster on The Yankee Zone said they had the game on, I had to believe. Texas 30 Baltimore 3. It was true. A team had scored 30 runs for the first time in 110 years. The 29 hits was just the most since 1992.

The 8 and 9 hitters, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Ramon Vazquez drove in 7 runs each. Travis Metcalf entered the game late, to give Michael Young a rest, and hit a grand slam. 4 Orioles pitchers took the hammering. Brian Burres and Paul Shuey won't want to look at their ERAs this morning.

Oh, and then they had to play the 2nd game of a doubleheader. Texas won that won too, 9-7, scoring 3 runs in the 8th. Metcalf started that one and drove in 4 more.

Here's the box score for the ages.
