Off Days, You Can Have 'em

The Carpenters should have sung, "Rainy days, Mondays, and off days during baseball season...". Nothing stinks more during the season than a Monday or Thursday with no game. Aimlessly spinning the dial at night, hoping it's all just an illusion. Yeah, their may be a game on ESPN or TBS, or the Mets might be on. But it's not the same thing.

Off days can be good when your team is going through a rough patch. But when things are going good, like now, off days just stink. After a win you want another game to start immediately.

But the worst thing about off days is what else is on TV. Now granted, I could have read the new Baldacci book I picked up yesterday, or the paper, but after working all day I just wanted to sit in front of the ol' Sony and watch the Yankees. Instead I got....

Paris Hilton's latest exploits in jail. She won't act dumb any more. Hallelujah. Now convince us it's not an act.

The Sopranos...over and over again..did you think it was good? did you think it was bad? yada yada yada. So glad this show is over with so I don't have to hear about it any more!

The latest shlock reality series. This one on ABC, some nonsense (it's immediately nonsense for having Marla Maples) about couples getting past their divorces and moving on - with the help of a complete fabulous makeover.

Girl Interrupted was on the USA network. I've never actually seen the movie, so we watched parts of it. Angelina Jolie looked horrible, which of course she was supposed to...but who wants that? The bigger question is what happened to Winona Ryder? She was really good in the role. And then she shoplifted and made an Adam Sandler movie. I guess you can only go up.

CNN Headline News' non-stop talking moron Glen Beck blathering on. On what? Who knows? Who cares?

The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch. I've caught this show from time to time and if it were not for the host, it might be a good show. Could this guy be any more pretentious? Anyway, the show last night was about pet owners making big bucks creating/inventing products for pets and pet owners. Some guy is making a fortune picking up poop. Only in America.

It's Tuesday..there's a game!!!!!!!!
