
The
Milwaukee Brewers have gone 3-11 in September and manager
Ned Yost has paid the price. The
Brewers have fired their manager after seeing their
wildcard lead disappear.
Milwaukee had won 8 of 9 to finish off August, but were swept in three straight by the
Mets to start the final month of the season. The
Phillies caught the
Brewers in the standings with a four game sweep this past weekend.
Milwaukee had an 8.5 game lead in the
NL Central last season, but didn't make the playoffs. The front office is trying to ensure that a similar situation doesn't occur this season. Third base coach, and former utility man,
Dale Sveum will take over as interim manager.
